How Therapy Works

At SLC, we believe that you are the expert on your own life.  Therefore, the job of the therapist is not to try and read your mind, to “fix” anything, or list all the possible “solutions” that you have already tried.  Rather, the job of the therapist is to offer an outside perspective on your life, to implement effective and established therapeutic methods to give you the keys to unlock the freedom and fulfillment you desire for your life.

Often times, your true self, who God created you to be, can get overshadowed by hurts from others, hidden for protection, or never given the chance to emerge at all.  As you and your therapist get to know each other, he/she may implement any number of therapy types such as cognitive-behavioral, solution-focused, intergenerational therapy, or others in order to offer you the fresh perspective, support, and guidance you need in order to fill in the gap between who you are and who you were created to be.

The therapists at Spring Life Counseling, LLC believe in a holistic approach to therapy, including social, emotional, physical, mental, and spiritual aspects.  In order for an individual to enjoy a healthy, balanced life, he/she needs to be connected with themselves, with God, and with significant others around them.  Finding ways to strengthen these areas of connection is essential to achieving health and balance in one’s life.

Typical issues with which our clients present include anxiety, depression, anger control, childhood or sexual trauma, difficulties in obtaining or sustaining close relationships, marital conflicts or infidelity, blended family difficulties, spiritual development, stage of life transitions, or general self-improvement.All of our therapists operate from a distinctively Christian perspective both in their personal lives and in the therapeutic environment.  It is important to note that our therapists always seek to respect the comfort level of each client in regards to the degree that spirituality and Christian counseling principles are utilized.
